Mother’s help is used to describe a child carer who offers similar services to a nanny, whilst not holding any qualifications. You are expected to help with tasks around the home and work alongside parents much more than a nanny.
The role of a mother’s help professional is to lighten the load and take some pressure off of the family.
You should have;
- Childcare Experience
- Already hold or be prepared to undergo an enhanced CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) check
- Passport and proof of eligibility to work in the UK
A mother’s helper can expect to be paid between £150 and £350 per week. Qualifications are not necessary, however you will need to have childcare experience.
